Plant Swap @ Walford Mill 24th - 26th April

Wilding Wimborne is partnering with Walford Mill to bring you a plant-swap opportunity. We all tend to plant too many seeds and wonder what to do with the extra that germinate. Or we split an established plant and don’t want to throw away the spare root. Come to Walford Mill and take advantage of the plants on offer: you can leave any plants that you don’t need and take some that you do!

Ainsley Road SANG 13th May 18.3-20.30

Trees for Wimborne did a good job here in the winter months and really got on top of the brambles etc. We don’t want to let it get out of control so join us when we will be clearing around the hedgeline and other vulnerable trees. After all of the winds we might also have to do some adjustment of the stakes and the supporting canes. So plenty to do. Park on Ainsley Road near the Football club. If you are late, look for us on the bridleway which runs parallel with the road. For more information please click below.

Tree Guard Removal 19.00-21.00

In addition to the usual places that we go to, Trees for Wimborne have added a couple of work evenings on another site between Wimborne and Sturminster Marshall: this is an area of farmland on the Stour Valley Way where the farmer has planted a woodland on their less productive land. The tree guards that were used to protect the trees from the deer are now causing more damage than preventing it. The farmer has been kind enough over the last year to allow us to take the undamaged guards and cable ties, for our use. This has proved a saviour on Dogdean and other sites. It is a lovely place and now much in need of attention, of which we have and will benefit. As an added bonus some of us might, at the end of the evening, enjoy the beer garden at the Coventry Arms while heading back towards Wimborne. For more information please click below.
